Sadness of Incomplete

Full title is 'Sadness of Incomplete (Butterfly's Dream)'

Rather sad image in cheerful colours. I always draw half faces beacause I feel incomplete and need someone to share happiness of this world. When I'm alone I can't be truly happy of all the great things I find here. And even though I have eternal beauty inside of me it feels nothing when there's noone who is happy with this beauty.

I think here's also the theme of my usual headaches that take away half of my face.. but in such state I have great inspiration very often. I forget about my sadness. I forget about my fears. And though I feel really great pain I start to do everything I was lazy to do when I felt normal. This image was finished in great headache too.

I put it in mixed media, because the linework was done with pen&ink on pastel paper and the colouring was done in Photoshop.

The colours are product of the palette I had at hand. Half of them are from my own collection of colours, but it was too messy, so I also used some palettes I found in Photoshop (mostly beautiful warm and greens in the top left corner). I didn't think much what colour to use, just put them quite chaotically.

Long ago in early 2003 I had a series of sad half-faces.. here I go again.. but let it be..
